Behind the design
At one point in my life, I was addicted and homeless on the streets of New Orleans. By the grace of God, I came out the other side and started building.
Rise LA exists because I believe what you wear can carry the weight of where you've been and the intention of where you're going.
Every piece I make is reworked or elevated — raised from what it was into something new. And that's what I want for each person who wears it.
I source original U.S. military-issued garments, some dating back to the 1950s, and rework them by hand. I create everyday, elevated staples for Louisiana heat, built to outlast the season. A portion of every sale goes to organizations serving people experiencing homelessness and survivors of trafficking in Louisiana — the same communities I came from.
Rise LA is my way of building something real, and bringing people with me.
