Meet the designer
For Christopher Pumilia, Rise LA is about more than designing clothes. It’s about creating something that reflects where he’s from and where Louisiana is going.
As the founder and designer behind Rise LA, Chris pulls inspiration from Louisiana culture, everyday life, vintage military pieces, streetwear, and the people and places that give this state its identity. His approach is rooted in taking something familiar and pushing it forward—creating pieces that feel elevated without losing the character they came from.
That same idea is at the heart of the brand: Louisiana doesn’t need to become something else to rise. There’s already something here worth building on.
For Chris, every collection is another opportunity to tell that story through design.
Some Rise LA pieces are crafted from original U.S. military-issued garments dating back to the 1950s.
These garments were worn by individuals who served and sacrificed, and their history is treated with respect and care throughout the design process. Each one-of-one piece is thoughtfully reworked to preserve its story while giving it new life.
This is not replication.
It’s reverence.
